IRU Logistics & Innovation Solutions, Forum for Logistic and Innovative Services on the topic “Gearing up towards Digital Logistics” will be held in April 12th in Amsterdam. At the forum, IRU, in collaboration with its members, will bring together the road transport and logistics industry to present the latest digital solutions, such as the platforms for the exchange of goods, EETS, electronic documents, new telematics features and data sharing practices. The event will enable transport operators to learn about the latest and future requirements for transport operations from major forwarders and e-commerce platforms. Also, transport operators will be able to exchange experiences with each other and establish joint business relationships, as well as with key international freight forwarders and prominent service providers. They will also be able to learn about future development markets from leading buyers of transportation services, such as Amazon, for example.
– Digitization is a key rebound between current practice and a fully efficient and automated future. Therefore, it emerged as a clear topic, which affects every aspect of transport and logistics. Most of the topics on the Forum’s agenda are issues discussed by IRU members in the IRU Services Commission over the past two years and they are key issues for the wider industry. The themes emerged from the visionary work of leading member associations, as well as careful monitoring of market trends. Otherwise, the event is a platform for market leaders to collaborate with IRU member associations. It is a new initiative created in response to the growing interest of the wider industry in the work we are working on and the potential for identifying mutually beneficial business interests between service providers and transport operators and their associations, such as AMERIT – says Zeljko Jeftić, head for the global innovations of IRU.
Amsterdam will talk about the latest trends in digital transport and logistics services: from the exchange of goods to an electronic fee, with ten speakers and eight service providers presenting their transport and logistics products live and video demonstrations of their solutions . Among others, representatives of Amazon Europe, DKV, Transfollow, AEOLIX and many others will take part. This is the first inaugural event of IRU Logistics & Innovation Solutions, and in 2016 and 2017, 36 national transport associations and chambers of commerce from over 30 countries participated in IRU services and innovations events presented by the Directors of Commercial Services. Together, they represent more than 559,500 members, mainly transport operators from all over Europe and beyond.
